Autumn is.....


That time of the year after the flies and before the frost....


         When early evenings are crisp and clear and dark clouds compete with pastel skies...


    And the torrential overnight rain leaves new ponds in the fields to reflect the sunset




And sillouhettes are so beautifully back-lit....




So that you just have to stop and look ....



And the next day you find that those same  rain clouds that leave puddles in their wake, 
have added more until the puddles are the size of small countries!

In the dips of the undulating fields there are great expanses of water where there was grass all summer.


All the better to play in ...
